    Research Profile

Project Status:

Active

Description:

This project will utilize ecological momentary assessment (EMA) data previously collected by Dr. Janssen. Secondary data analysis will focus on examining momentary cognitive processes related to reward and risk, particularly markers of behavioral disinhibition, among those in late adolescence with and without ADHD. It will also evaluate differential effects among underrepresented minority groups with ADHD in order to investigate health disparities among this population. In doing so, the project will aim to characterize the role of behavioral disinhibition in momentary processes predicting acute risk behavior and explore facets of behavioral disinhibition and impulsivity that may serve as transdiagnostic markers of ADHD symptom load and heavy episodic drinking. Additionally, it will investigate how experiences of everyday discrimination may moderate the relationship between behavioral disinhibition and drinking behavior.
