Postdocs

Our postdoctoral researchers play a vital role on our research teams studying addiction, alcohol use and smoking, bringing specialized expertise and fresh perspectives to complex health challenges.

These early-career scientists apply advanced training in areas like epidemiology, behavioral science and health policy to address pressing issues in addiction research. Postdoctoral researchers contribute significantly by designing studies, collecting and analyzing data and helping to develop interventions aimed at reducing the harmful effects of addiction on individuals and communities.

  • Abhishek Aggarwal

    Abhishek Aggarwal, Ph.D.

    CADRE Postdoctoral Research Associate
    abhishek_aggarwal@brown.edu

Abhishek Aggarwal joined the Center for Addiction and Disease Risk Exacerbation (CADRE) in August 2024. He received his Ph.D. in Health Promotion, Education and Behavior at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC after defending his dissertation titled Social-Ecological Determinants of Affective States among College Students: A Cross-Cultural Ecological Momentary Assessment Study. Aggarwal’s interests include leveraging real-time data-capturing techniques to investigate the dynamics of socio-ecological determinants of substance use. In doing so, he hopes to develop and evaluate digital interventions that provide contextualized and timely support to prevent these behaviors. His work is currently sponsored by the CADRE’s COBRE grant (P20GM130414 [Monti])
