Clinical Lab Core

The Clinical Laboratory Core (CLC) provides investigators with the tools they need.

The Clinical Laboratory Core (CLC) supports research led by investigators from CADRE, Brown University and other IDeA-state institutions. CLC members are conducting research on substance use and chronic disease by identifying and providing the scientific expertise, clinical acumen, technical capability, space, and other resources necessary to meet the needs of their projects.

Ultimately, provision of these resources via the CLC improves efficiency, consistency and economy of scale across projects.

Our Aims

  1. Provide resources for conducting in-person and remote human subjects research on substance use and chronic disease.
  2. Develop a business plan to expand the CLC's user base, implement a fee-for-service model, and ensure self-sustainability post-COBRE funding.
  3. Maintain a center-wide database of transdiagnostic risk factors linked to the development and progression of SUDs and chronic disease.
