Our Aims
- Solidify a team and organizational structure that provides leadership and administrative support for scientific excellence and facilitates the goals of the CADRE. Our interdisciplinary Executive and Advisory Committees work together to understand substance use and its effects on chronic disease, particularly in underserved populations.
- Provide state-of-the-art mentoring support and initiatives for the CADRE Project Leads and Pilot Project Leads to facilitate their success in achieving independent grant funding.
- Increase the diversity of the biomedical workforce and address substance use and its effects on health in underserved communities by administering a pilot project program and recruiting postdoctoral fellows from groups underrepresented in biomedical sciences.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of the overall CADRE effort, including its Cores and Research Projects, on scientific and career development objectives, so that CADRE is continuously evolving and improving.
